Black and Yellow Koi

The Koi or more specifically nishikigoi, is often seen in Japanese style tattooing for a good reason, it's a powerful image symbolizing the perseverance through struggle in life.  The word Koi also means love or affection in Japanese. I had the pleasure of creating this piece in Honolulu in 2012.
